Haights Cross Communications, the educational and library publisher, has announced the appointment of Kevin R. Brueggeman as president and CEO of its Triumph Learning, LLC, business unit. Brueggeman is currently a private equity mergers and acquisitions advisor and angel investor based in San Antonio, Tex. He has held president/CEO positions with Pearson Education and Harcourt Assessment, Inc.

Haights Cross Communications helps students buckle down on their studies. The company offers test preparation and learning materials for educators and school systems, public and school libraries, and consumers. Its Triumph Learning business includes imprints such as Buckle Down (state assessment and test preparation materials for grades 2-12) and Options Publishing (skills assessment products for math and reading students in K-8 grade). Haights Cross also publishes audio books for public libraries and schools through its Recorded Books business. Haights Cross was founded in 1997. Saddled with debt, the company filed for Chapter 11 in 2010; about a month later, it emerged from bankruptcy.
