    Bring Back Local Corruption

Ohanian Comment: Read Joe's observation in context of The Education Association’s annual Washington policy conference.

As Joe points out, local corruption only steals a piano or the candy money; with NCLB, national corruption steals children's souls and at the same time destroys the profession of teaching.

Government always "misappropriates" money, but give me the good old days of local corruption; at least they allowed the schools to run without the nonsense that we see now.The amount of money lost then pales to the amount being wasted now and the kids are being dumbed down by people without credentials.

Remember the stories of stolen pianos and candy money? Let's bring them back.

    All corruption should be local!
