The National Defense University
The National Defense University includes the following colleges and schools. Who could guess that the US military needs so many colleges. Their websites make for interesting and alarming reading.
The Business Roundtable and their politico minions will be pleased to know that the courses offered by the various branches of the National Defense University contain plenty of rigor. Perhaps this where the folk as the Reading First branch of NCLB got the idea to insist on a promise from rigor from their grantees. What's good for the two-star general must be good for the kindergartner. After all, the corporate-politico agenda is that students should prepare to be workers in the Global Economy, which is the same thing as preparing for war.

- Joint Advanced Warfighting Schools (JAWS)
Course Description:
The JAWS curriculum is clearly focused on "high end" operational art. This specific and concentrated focus allows for more in-depth immersion and applied rigor than is possible in many more standard military education institutions. Based in part on the existing curricula of the Joint Forces Staff College's Joint and Combined Warfighting School Senior Course, the JAWS curriculum endeavors to balance between operational and strategic studies and between warfighting and war preparation. . . .
NOTE: Successful completion of JAWS will result in the awarding of a Masters Degree in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy.
