Education Week Forum: Powering Through the Recession

    by Susan Ohanian

A full-page ad in Education Week, April 22, 2009 should remind readers of where this organization's bread is buttered. Actually, in addition to the ad on page 27, the whole issue is encased in a shiny cover announcing the Powering the Recession "Leadership Forum" forum on front and back--and on inside pages front and back: This amounts to five full pages of ads describing the wonders of this event.

Here's the full title of this event: Powering through the Recession: Strategies for District Leaders to Keep Student Achievement on Track.

You have to go to the website to find out the cost:
Register today to guarantee your seat at the table with the nation’s leading school district leaders.

    Prices:
Early-bird registration (extended until April 20, 2009): $295.00 [Since my issue arrived in the mail on 4/29/09, it would be difficult for me to get the early-bird special.]

    Regular Registration (through May 7, 2009): $395.00

    On-Site Registration: $495.00

Not for the weak of purse. But if you register now you can bring a colleague for free.
