    Advanced Pressure

    by Susan Ohanian

The filmmaker Vicki Abeles features the stories of students and teachers of Advancement Placement classes and the pressures they face in our achievement-obsessed culture.

The Video is good but why isn't there text to go with it? And I couldn't find anyplace for comments. You know they'd be flooded.

An AP biology teacher said, "I am sacrificing quality of content to quantity of content. . . AP students have way more to do than they have hours in the day."

He thinks AP classes should be abolished.

A college admissions officer said, "We wanted to see if you were take total advantage of the opportunities available at your school," but she admits something has gone wrong.

NOTE: There are 2.3 million AP tests taken every year . . . @ $83.00 per test.
