Broad Alumni Making It Big in Corporate Takeover of American Education

Ohanian Comment: It is critical that people who care about public schools, people who know the importance of public schools, see the links here. What is happening in large urban districts today has been carefully orchestrated by vulture philanthropists. Here's the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

    by Jim Horn

Eli Broad's Superintendents Academy is paying big dividends for the corporate takeover of American education and the crushing of the teaching profession. In Kansas City a plan developed by Broad's lawyers and Broad Alum, John Covington, will close half of Kansas City Schools with large numbers of corporate charter replacements. In Delaware Broad Alum, Lillian Lowery, will lead the RTTT funded initiative to use test scores to decide who teaches in the state. And in Detroit, Broad star, Robert Bobb, has a plan developed by the Skillman Foundation, and dismantling of the public system is underway. The public money will continue, of course, even though public voice or public oversight will be a thing of the past.
