    Shame

    A note from Billee Bussard in Florida:

    Polls show Deb Gianoulis beating the head of the Florida Republican Party, John Thrasher, by 5 points in the Florida Senate Race. He is the guy, Florida Public Education Enemy No. 1, who pushed a bill for more testing and tying teacher pay to test scores. This could be the big news of Election Day for the education community and a story worthy of national headlines. But so far, the "lame stream" media--mostly owned by Republicans in this neck of the woods-- isn't paying attention.

    She needs our help.

    By now, you are well aware of what is happening in this Senate race. I'm talking about the need for a new direction in Tallahassee while my opponent John Thrasher is distorting my career and making misleading attacks on me.

    I got in this race because we need a new direction in Tallahassee – one where elected officials work across party lines to create jobs and improve our schools. I’m running to be an independent voice for the people of Senate District 8.

    When polling came out last week showing that I was ahead by 5 points, John Thrasher responded the way that career politicians always do – by flooding the airwaves, clogging your phone lines and filling your mailboxes with distortions and misleading attacks.

    I need your help to respond!

    My campaign is responding with a new advertisement -- "Shame."

    My message is simple: John Thrasher has been running for office for 25 years, but instead of running on his record, he’s launched a negative campaign. I guess career politicians like Senator Thrasher will do anything to hold onto power.

    I never thought I’d run for office, but I am angry watching the politicians cater to the lobbyists. I am committed to being an independent voice for everyone, not just one political party.

    I need you to help me out and make a donation so I can keep this message on the air.

    Buying television time is very expensive, however, it's crucial that I am able to continue to communicate with voters right up until Election Day.

    Will you chip in to keep my ad on the air?
