In your article, "Gains on Tests in New York Schools Don’t Silence Critics", schools chancellor Joel Klein stated, "If that's what test prep is about, teaching people to read and understand paragraphs, that's what I think education is about." Really? So, our kids are going to school so they can practice reading a test so they can pass it, so they can practice on another test, to pass that test, and thus the pattern repeats incessantly through their twelve years in school? And this is what he thinks education is? The odd thing is, our President supports this testing ideology! Let President Obama's Sidwell educated children experience this. When he sees his children's eyes glaze over daily as they walk through the door at home, maybe then he would realize the destruction that is being caused by Klein's 'education'. No child should be treated less than a full human being.
