NCLB Outrages
Call for papers No Child Left Behind legislation is designed to insure that all children are provided with the help they need to succeed in school and ultimately in life. How is your school supporting students who are in danger of falling behind? What kinds of intervention programs or classroom support structures seem to be working? How have you identified students in need of targeted assistance without stigmatizing them? How have teachers at your school acquired the skills they need to teach in literacy intervention programs? Are there particular materials that seem to be making a difference for your students? California English would like to feature stories from preschool initiatives to AVID to college bridge programs. Let’s share our expertise so that neither California children nor California teachers will be left behind. Is this called being part of the problem, or what? Maybe California teachers need a revolutionary alternative.
