Obama Chooses Education Deputy In Charge of Change

Another item in the news you
will see nowhere else.

President-elect Barack Obama's press secretary
Robert Gibbs has announced that Grayson Stupl,
former change agent at AIG, has cut short his
partying in the Cayman Islands, to serve on
the Obama education team. As Undersecretary of
Uber-Innovation, Stupl will be in charge of
making sure teachers stay on their toes.

To kick off his commitment to teacher quality,
Stupl pledges to visit a faculty room in every
state, handing out 24-karat-gold-leaf-wrapped
chocolate truffles to boost teacher morale and
to show them they are valued.

Stupl acknowledges that changing teachers may
be different from paying off Harvard MBAs, but,
hoping to hit the deck running, he is taking
bids for getting Beluga caviar into faculty
rooms across America on the Monday after
Inauguration. "First the caviar, then the
standardized test scores!" he pledges.

Stupl invites suggestions for more ideas for
changing the climate in faculty rooms. "If
faculty rooms are the breadbaskets of
intellectual growth, then let's all join hands
to feed our teachers!"
