California Teachers Stand Together to Say "Enough!"
Backed by 160 of their colleagues at a school board meeting, two dozen teachers in Rocklin, California, resigned from the district math committee, protesting the school board's refusal to treat them as professionals.

The teachers, half who had taught Every Day Math for six years and half who had piloted other programs, recommended that the district purchase updated versions of Every Day Math in the district. The school board turned down the math committee's recommendation, raising the question for teachers of why should they pilot curriculum and offer opinions based of their knowledge and experience.

One board member invited teachers to quit the district if they didn't like the decision.
